Dr.Sathya Sinduja Bhuvanagiri Migraine is a complex neurovascular disorder influenced not only by structural and biochemical factors but also by autonomic dysregulation and psychosomatic stressors. Siddha medicine traditionally recognizes the intimate connection between mind (Manam), vital energy (Uyir Sakthi), and physical body (Udal), suggesting that disturbances in emotional or energetic equilibrium due to some incidence, traumas or past memories may manifest as chronic pain syndromes. Conventional pharmacological therapy often provides symptomatic relief but may not adequately address the underlying biomechanical or systemic contributors and the psychosomatic stressors. Many patients’ complaint of persistent attacks, incomplete symptom control and total dependency on medications and high chances of relapse on discontinuation of drugs.
This case series evaluates the outcomes of Chakrasiddh Energy Release Technique (CERT), a Siddha-based cervico-energetic integrative therapy, in five patients presenting with migraine of heterogeneous etiologies. Each patient was selected based on distinct contributing factor of migraine: Migraine secondary to chronic sinus inflammation; Cervicogenic migraine associated with cervical spondylotic changes; Cluster headache associated with pituitary apophysitis; Migraine linked to chronic gut dysregulation and Stress-induced autonomic migraine.
CERT is an integrative Siddha-based modality that combines cervical decompression, neuromuscular release, autonomic balancing, and subtle energy harmonization to restore mind–body coherence. Across all five cases, patients demonstrated significant reduction in pain intensity (mean VAS reduction 65%), decreased attack frequency, and improved functional capacity. Notably, improvements were accompanied by enhanced sleep quality, emotional stability, and digestive regulation, indicating systemic restoration rather than isolated symptom relief. The findings support the Siddha perspective that migraine reflects disruption in the dynamic interplay between mind, nervous system, and energy flow. CERT appears to facilitate recalibration of this mind–body axis, offering a non-invasive adjunctive approach for multidimensional migraine management. Further controlled studies are warranted to validate these observations.
